PACKAGING, SHIPPING & YOU
The Facts:
We sell only full container loads, this way we give the opportunity to our manufacturing companies and master distributors to sell without interference to smaller distributors, chains, etc. - our policy changes from country to country, please inquire.
We try to sell only 40 ft. and 45 ft. containers because it is more competitive price wise: a 20 ft container costs only 10 to 20% less than a 40 ft. and we fit less than half of the cargo. This increases the product cost dramatically landed in your country, especially in bulky items like mops.
The more product we can put in the container the cheaper this product will be at its final destination.
Under this premise, we usually try to stay away from packaging or things that could waste space, for example pallets, boxes and product logistics. But ultimately it is our customers choice.
In little words it would be cheaper for you, if you ordered mops in master bags of 60 units instead of boxed per dozen. Not only because of the extra cost of the box, but because we can fit less of them inside the container, therefore increasing the cost. However, we stride to package any way you specify.
Types of packaging products:
We can pack bulk in master bags or in master boxes. We can also individually bag in clear poly bags or preprinted bags. We can also pack in boxes per dozen, in retail packages, in custom printed and scored boxes, etc. It is our customers choice.
HIMESA is proud to introduce our brick packaging, allowing ultra maximization of cargo into the containers as well as a lowering the shipping cost for your company when shipping in your own country.
Savings space up to 75% is not uncommon, therefore saving you in shipping, bags, carton, etc.
Please inquire for more information.
Types of packaging of containers:
Floor loaded: Here we place the product (already boxed or bagged, etc.) directly on the container floor, this way we maximize amount of cargo that we can fit into the container.
Advantage: Full cargo maximization
Disadvantages: Takes more time to unload, harder to verify products while unloading, and some damaging to product may occur while unloading as well.
Towers: These are large pallets that stem from the bottom to almost the roof of the container.
Advantage: Fast unloading, fast verification.
Disadvantage: One product type per tower, this means that only 18-20 different products to a full 40'/45' container load. It can only be unloaded with forklift or cargo mule and you also lose spacing between the towers and on-top of them as well; this is empty space, otherwise we cannot take the product out of container (due to container door lips).
Pallets: This is one of the most common ways to send product.
Advantage: Fast unloading, fast verification.
Disadvantage: One product type per Pallet, this means that only 36-40 different products to a full 40' / 45' container load. It can only be unloaded with forklift or cargo mule and you also lose spacing between the pallets and on-top of the pallets; this is empty space, otherwise we cannot take the product out of container (due to container door lips).
Weights and Measurements:
We are extremely careful with our weights and measurements, if we sell to you a 12,000 yard cone, IT has 12000 yards! When a customer orders a mop we will make any number mop he says , for example a #12 of 10 onz., we will label it as a #12, and in our invoice it states very clearly a #12 of 10 onz, and so on. We use usually the English measurement system (feet, American pounds, yards, etc) but we can label it otherwise to customer requirements.
We use certified monthly, electronic weight scales to assure complete trueness & correct weight.
Triple Verification System
We are very serious with all our shipping and we pride ourselves with our control system, we weigh and verify our production and loading (at production, at quality control and verification and at loading docks) and we send you a complete documentation protocol to help you unload in a neat, controlled fashion.
