Floor Maintenance procedures: Convenience stores, Specialty Retailer, etc.
Daily Cleaning Procedure
  1. Dust mop the entire area with an HIMESA Dust Mop.
  2. Fill a Mop Bucket with cleaning solution per the instructions on the cleaner
  3. Spot mop the extremely dirty areas. If necessary use HIMESA Scrub mop.
  4. Damp mop the entire store area using an HIMESA Cotton Loop End mop.
Weekly Cleaning Procedure (Once Per Week)
After doing the daily Cleaning Procedure, follow by burnishing or either spray buff with a solution in a trigger spray bottle or burnish after mopping on a restorer solution.
Monthly Maintenance Procedure
  1. Dust mop the floor with an HIMESA Dust mop.
  2. Use cleaner solution with the HIMESA Rayon T Loop End Mop
  3. After scrubbing/cleaning, mop up the excess solution and rinse with clean water.
  4. Lay 1 or 2 coats of fresh finish using HIMESA Finish mop.
Stripping
  1. Dust mop the floor with the HIMESA Dust Mop
  2. Block a 10 by 10 area with Wet Floor Signs
  3. Put on your Special Shoes and flood the 10 by 10 area with the properly mixed stripper solution using an HIMESA cotton Mop.
  4. Allow proper dwell time (approximately 10 minutes)
  5. Use the Swing Floor Machine with a Black Stripping Pad and work the area.
  6. Use an HIMESA Acrilex mop or Finish Mop to detail around the checkout stands, baseboards and any other area where there is a buildup of finish or where the Floor Machine will not fit.
  7. Pick up the used stripper with the HIMESA Cotton Loop End Mop.
  8. Flood rinse the area with a clean HIMESA Cotton Loop End Mop and clear water, then mop up the rinse water. Repeat these steps until the entire area to be stripped is finished.
Apply Finish
Apply at least 4 Coats of New finish using HIMESA Finish/Waxer Mop. Waiting until each coat is dry before applying the next coat. Allow at least 24 hours for the finish to cure, then refer to the Daily & Weekly Maintenance Schedule.

Floor Maintenance Procedures: Grocery/Supermarket, etc.
Super Market Daily Cleaning
  1. Dust mop the floor with an HIMESA Dust Mop and put out wet floor signs.
  2. Fill auto-scrubber with cleaner solution and put Cleaning Pads on the auto scrubber or else use an HIMESA Loop End Rayon F mop.
  3. Fill a mop bucket with cleaner solution and spot mop heavily soiled areas with an HIMESA Loop End Cotton mop.
  4. Clean the areas with the pads down, the squeegee down and the vacuum on. In heavily soiled areas, a double pass may be required. The first pass would be with the squeegee up. If not available use a Rayon F or a Acrilex Loop End Mop.
  5. Use an HIMESA Loop End Cotton mop to pick up any excess solution or streaks.
  6. Put a Burnishing pad on the battery burnisher and burnish the entire store. If not available use a Tira Mop.
Super Market Periodic Schedule (Repair)
When the surface of the floor is dirty and will no respond to daily maintenance or burnishing, the following deep scrub and recoat procedure will repair the bad area:
  1. Dust mop the area with an HIMESA Dust Mop.
  2. Put Scrub Pads on the auto scrubber and with a strong solution of cleaner do a double pass procedure on the floor ( as described in stripping procedures 8-11 below)
  3. After the area is dry, lay 2 to 3 coasts of new finish using and HIMESA White Rayon F Loop End mop or use an HIMESA Finish Loop End Mop. Allow 24 hours for the finish to cure before burnishing the area.
Stripping
  1. Dust mop the floor with the HIMESA Dust Mop, and put out Wet Floor Signs.
  2. Fill the Mop Bucket with stripping Solution.
  3. Pull the Auto Scrubber into the area to be stripped and place Stripping Pads on it.
  4. Put on special Shoes to prevent slipping.
  5. Use an HIMESA strip “Tira” mop or a Loop End Acrilex or Rayon F mop, to detail around the checkout stands, baseboards and any other area where there is a buildup of finish or where the Swing Floor Machine will not fit.
  6. Use the HIMESA Loop End Cotton mop to flood and aisle with the stripper solution. Allow 10 Minutes dwell time.
  7. Use an Scrub aid kit to detail the edges where a machine can’t reach
  8. Put the pad drivers down (brushes) on the Auto Scrubber and make a pass over the area, with the stripping Pads. Leave the vacuum off and the squeegee up. Otherwise use Acrilex Loop End Mop.
  9. Make a second pass with the squeegee and brushes down and vacuum on the pick up the solution.
  10. Flood the area with clean water.
  11. Make another pass in the area with the brushes up, the squeegee down and the vacuum on to pick up the rinse water.
  12. Wring out and HIMESA Loop end Cotton Mop, in clean water and damp mop this area, making sure all solution is up.
Apply Finish
  1. Apply at least 4 coats of new finish using an HIMESA Loop end Rayon F or Acrilex Finish Mop, waiting until each coat is dry before applying the next coat.
  2. The following night or maintenance period, dust mop using an HIMESA Dust Mop, put a Cleaning Pad on the auto scrubber and lightly clean the finish with cleaning solution. Add up to four coats of finish to the newly cleaned floor. Allow at least 24 hours for the finish to cure, then refer to the Daily & Periodic Maintenance Schedule.

Floor Maintenance Procedures: Mass Merchandiser
Daily Cleaning
  1. Dust mop the floor with an HIMESA Dust mop and put out wet floor signs
  2. Fill auto scrubber with cleaner solution and put the cleaning pads on the auto scrubber
  3. Fill a mop bucket with cleaner solution and spot mop heavily soiled areas with and HIMESA Cotton Loop End mop.
  4. Clean the areas with the pads down, the squeegee down and the vacuum on. In heavily soiled areas, a double pass may be required. The first pass would be with the squeegee up.
  5. Use and HIMESA Cotton Loop End Mop to pick up any excess solution or streaks
  6. Put the burnishing Pad on the battery burnisher and burnish the entire store.
Periodic Schedule (REPAIR)
When the surface of the floor is dirty and will not respond to daily maintenance or burnishing, the following deep scrub and recoat procedure will repair the bad area:
  1. Dust mop the area with and HIMESA Dust Mop
  2. Put Scrub Pads on the auto scrubber and with a strong solution of cleaner do a double pass procedure on the floor (as described in stripping procedures 8-11 below).
  3. After the areas is dry, lay 2 to 3 coats of new finish using an HIMESA Loop End Acrilex Finish Mop. Allow 24 hours for the finish to cure before burnishing the area.

  2. Fill the Mop Bucket with Stripper Solution.
  3. Pull the Auto Scrubber into the area to be stripped and place Stripping Pads on it.
  4. Put on the special shoes to prevent slipping.
  5. Use a Scrubbing Kit to detail around the checkout stands, baseboards and any other area where there is a buildup of finish or where the Swing Floor Machine will not fit.
  6. Use the HIMESA Cotton Mop to flood an aisle with the stripper solution.
  7. Allow 10 Minutes dwell time.
  8. Use a Scrubbing Kit to detail the edges where a machine can’t reach.
  9. Put the as drivers down (brushes) on the Auto Scrubber and make a pass over the area wit the Stripping Pads. Leave the vacuum off and the squeegee up.
  10. Make a second pass with the squeegee and brushes down and vacuum on to pick up the solution.
  11. Flood the area with clean water.
  12. Make another pass in the area with brushes up, the squeegee down and the vacuum on to pick up the rinse water.
  13. Wring out an HIMESA Rayon T Loop End Mop in clean water and damp mop this area, making sure all solution is up.
Apply Finish
  1. Apply at least 4 coats of new finish using an HIMESA Loop end Acrilex or a Loop End Finish Mop, waiting until each coat is dry before applying the next coat.
  2. The following night or maintenance period, dust mop using an HIMESA Dust Mop, put a Cleaning Pad on the auto scrubber and lightly clean the finish with cleaning solution. Add up to four coats of finish to the newly cleaned floor. Allow at least 24 hours for the finish to cure, then refer to the Daily & Periodic Maintenance Schedule.

Floor Maintenance Procedures: Industrial Facilities
Daily Cleaning
  1. Constantly Dust mop the floor with an HIMESA Dust mop and pick up any industrial debris .
  2. Fill a mop bucket with cleaner solution and spot mop heavily soiled areas with and HIMESA Loop End Acrilex mop.
  3. Use and HIMESA Cotton Loop End Mop to pick up any excess solution or streaks
Periodic Schedule (REPAIR)
When the surface of the floor is dirty and will not respond to daily maintenance or burnishing, the following deep scrub and recoat procedure will repair the bad area:
  1. Dust mop the area with and HIMESA Dust Mop
  2. If your facility has a scrubber use the scrub pads with a strong solution of cleaner do a double pass procedure on the floor. Or use an industrial scrubber brush and a HIMESA scrubber mop.
  3. After the area is dry, lay 2 to 3 coats of new finish using an HIMESA Finish/Waxer Mop. Allow 24 hours for the finish to cure before burnishing the area, that is if it is the appropriate type of flooring.
